This beautiful, intricately-woven nomadic Afghan rug is known as Moshwani Gazak, and is one of the rarest types of rug weaves in the world.
The rug is a combination of pile and flat weave from the Moshwani Baluch nomad tribes of historic Herat in Afghanistan. It's known for the uniqueness of its design, and is woven from 100% wool, incorporating natural dyes. Herat was a key art and poetry centre of the old Persian civilization. Every Baluch rug is a unique piece and a work of art.
