Vintage Tribal: 270 x 200cm: An exquisite quality vintage old tribal Turkoman rug from the nomad tribes of Afghanistan! 

This superb vintage old rug, one of the finest-woven examples found of its kind, represents a superb quality workmanship of the pre-Soviet occupation Afghanistan, when some of the best quality tribal rugs were produced in the country. The design is "Feel Pai" or Elephant Foot.

The rug was made in the pre-1979 era and is in excellent condition for its age. The rug was woven in Faryab region of Afghanistan, on the border with Turkmenistan, and is an important rug-producing centre of the country. The rug is woven from 100% wool, incorporating natural dyes.
